VILLA JOLANDA
Overlooking the Apulian Adriatic coast in Castro Marina, Villa Jolanda opens its doors to an exclusive seaside retreat. This elegant 19th-century residence is defined by a grand staircase connecting the garden to the house and by its iconic “rotonda on the sea”, adorned with blue majolica tiles that have become a signature of the property.
Villa Jolanda preserves the name of its former owner, renowned for the vibrant dance parties hosted here during the 1960s and 1970s, while today it has been thoughtfully reimagined as a celebration of colour, creativity, and the freedom to blend tones, eras, and materials without constraints.
The villa is the home of a collector, a place where art and design engage in a bold and unconventional dialogue. The interiors pay tribute to Ettore Sottsass and the Memphis Group, featuring a carefully curated selection of iconic pieces gathered over the years, seamlessly integrated with contemporary furniture and artworks in a continuous creative flow. From Sottsass’s celebrated Totems and the Ultrafragola mirror, to Nathalie du Pasquier’s rugs, seating by Gio Ponti and Osvaldo Borsani, furnishings by Martino Gamper, lighting by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, the Campana Brothers’ custom bed headboard, and Ico Parisi’s rocking chairs dressed with bespoke Bauhaus-inspired cushions, every element contributes to a vibrant and expressive atmosphere.
As Sottsass believed, colour is not artificial but deeply connected to nature and the cosmos. Villa Jolanda reveals its true soul through a bold, expressive palette, where vivid reds, warm oranges, lush greens and turquoise tones echo the ever-changing hues of the sea, creating an immersive, sensorial experience that feels both free-spirited and deeply contemporary.
